Default 1990 stalling please help!

I have a 1990 camry with 95000 miles on it. the other day it stalled right after starting, then stalled 3 times in the parking lot, and once at a stop sign. It feels like it's gonna stall when I stop. When I start it cold and go, it's just fine, and once I get going for a little while, it's OK too. I know nothing about cars and I'm afraid to take it to a shop (many places tend to say you need things you don't really need). Any suggestions of what I should have checked out, or of a good trustworthy service center in oshkosh, WI?

Sounds like an idle sensor that only kicks in at certain temeperature ranges. My haynes manual says check these things: idle speed incorrect, fuel filter clogged, "faulty emission system components", Bad spark plugs or plug wires, valves out of adjustment.
