Default 2002 Camry Tire Noise

I had a hard to describe noise coming from the left front wheel, had machanic rotate tires - no help. Mechanic (not a Toyota dealer)took for test ride andthought it was the left front wheel bearing. Thinking it was just a wheel bearing I did not take it to the dealer . Mechanic replaced the wheel bearing and also the axlebut did not use Toyota parts. Nowit's making a noise that sounds like cupped tires at all speeds but at 40 to 70 MPH it seems to be theloudest. Mechanic can't seem to hear the noise andisblaming thetires and has rotated the left frontto another position but noise remains.
NonToyota axlelooks likethe shafthas a large coupling in the center of itthat does not exist on passenger side axle.Mechanic claims car issafe andthinks noise is normal.
I think the axle is defective and coupling may be the cause of the noise and I'm concerned that this will eventually damage the bearings or CV joint.
Should have taken the car back to dealer.

Should have taken the car back to dealer.
Good advise. Better get a second opinion.

Shouldn't have bad mouthed my mechanic, I found out that my Camry had a full size (never used)spare tire, swapped it out with the left front and most of the noise went away. Bought another Michelin like the spare. I had the 2 Michelins mounted on the front and my car is quiet again. Not sureI will ever buy Bridgestones again...
