When is the "Airbag Off" light supposed to be on? The reason I ask is, in my 2009 Toyota Camry, when nobody is in the passenger seat, it's not on.

 

Typically if no passenger in front seat light is not illuminated.

If child in seat light indicates off.

Check owners manual to confirm.

 

light will be on when you have light load on the seat. a pound won't do it, but few pounds will. sensors pick up light weight, and ECM turns off that airbag. I am not sure, at what combined weight bag is turned on.
with seat carrying no load at all, light is off.
