Default A/C not cooling

My daughter's 94 Camry, I4, 198K mi, has developed A/C problems. She complains that the A/C light flashes after it has been cooling for a while, then it won't cool at all. It blows very cold when you first engage the A/C. Checked it out yesterday. Added some freon. Compressor rattles a bit when clutch engages, pulley looked wobbly. I'm thinking new compressor/clutch/dryer. How about you?

Any good sources for A/C parts cheap?

TIA

I am having the same problem with my 96. According to Toyota its the expansion valve that is sticking, its not allowing the cold to pass through consistently. For my area I am looking at about $350 plus $130 since they will have to do a evacuate and recharge.

If the pulley's wobbly, depending on how bad, thats a sign it could have wobbled away the seal and this is causing a leak. So yes could be the compressor worn out but its probably not a job for the home mechanic... because like he said, the system has to be evacuated after you are done changing parts. Which means all the air sucked out and replaced with refrigerant/oil in the right amount. So unless you have this equipment i dont think it can be done right at home.
To save some money sure why not change the parts, the compressor and stuff, and then you just have to pay for the recharge then.
