The only thing I know of for reading codes is a proprietary diagnosis link under the hood, I may be wrong, I've seen it on a 92 camry... So I'm assuming it's there as well.

OBDII was installed on cars 1996 and newer.

 

Old fashion way: check distributor for spark, do you hear fuel pump when you first turn ignition on? No to either start there.
