Electrical Issues
I purchased a 2000 Camry and noticed that instrument panel light, reverse light, power side mirrors, 12v accessory all don't work. could be other things. My uncle bought it originally a few weeks ago and had struts replaced. the previous owner said everything worked, but now these different lights\accessories not working. Could there be a disconnected harness somewhere due to the strut replacement? Gauge fuse appears good, haven't used a test light yet. Car is for my daughter, I'm a first time Toyota owner, so don't know much about them.
*UPDATE* - It turns out that the indicator light for reverse lights not working was per-existing. I opened the trunk and found at least one broken wire. I'll inspect and repair all the broken wires to see if that fixes the reverse lights. I still need to figure out the issues with the instrument panel light and other sundry electrical problems. I'll post back my results.
Everything fixed! Except, power mirrors. Fuse is good, but continuity tester shows no light on either side of fuse. Wondering if it is a bad control mechanism in the dash. Might try replacing that, any suggestions on how to verify if that is the issue before I try replacing the part would be helpful.
No, the cigarette lighter did not work, I missed that fuse earlier, it kept blowing when I replaced the fuse. Turns out, a penny was inside the cigarette lighter. Problem solved once the penny was removed. Everything is working now.
