hi i have a 1996 le limited edition camry. it has been fine till the instrument panel lighting is gone i mean the whole panel is black even when the headlight is on, well except the gear indicator at the middle of the panel is still going. i turned the *** for brighten up or dim and checked the fuse that have to do with the instrument panel and interior lighting but they seem fine.

what do you think the problem is, thankz at adance.

 

I don't think the gear select light runs through the dimmer. I would by-pass the dimmer and see if you get dash lights. Just run a jumper around the dimmer.

 

I'll promise you that there is a short in the dimmer.

 

yeah the dimmer probably broke.
Unless by some miracle all the bulbs blew at the same time!
