STEERING PROBLEM 95 CAMRY

Default STEERING PROBLEM 95 CAMRY

SOMEONE GAVE ME A 95 CAMRY 4 CYLINDER.THEY SAID THE STEERING HAS ALOT OF PLAY IN IT.I TURNED WHEEL AND IT CLICKS WHEN TURNED.YOU CAN SEE THE STEERING BOX FLEXING.DOES THIS CAR HAVE RACK AND PINION STEERING?IS THIS PROBLEM HARD TO FIX?

Yikes dont drive this car til its fixed...!
Try tightening the mounting bolts on the steering box. If you are very lucky that might fix it. Then check all the steering parts, the linkage usually has a u joint that probly needs replacing too.
You will have your work cut out for you changing the steering box. If you have a pick-a-part junkyard near you can get all the practice you need ripping a replacement steering box from another car.
Also all the ball joints and stuff on the front end may be worn out too, a good bet with steering box that bad.
