97 Camry steering problem
Hi Folks,
I have a 97 Camry LE V6 that is having a steering problem with noise and excessive play. When I start out, I am going straight and the steering wheel is in line with the direction I am going. Once I make a right turn and I go back to driving straight, my steering wheel is tilted slightly to the right about 30 degrees. When I make a left turn, this doesnt happen. I had the car taken into the shop 3 months ago and had both CV shafts changed. I still had the problem so they replaced the right shaft again and told me it that the first one was defective. I am now driving it and it is still doing this. I am thinking it may be the Rack but not sure. Is there any thing else that I could check like joints or linkages before I bring it into the shop again? Did anyone else have a similar problem with this. Also, I had the Rack an Pinion changed once already about 5 years ago.
Thanks!
