Unhappy 2005 Camry not starting

Hello, new to this forum.... so yesterday I went through some hard times with my 2005 Toyota Camry as it stopped working on my drive to work. I'm not the best at diagnosing car issues however, I'm that it wasn't an engine related issue as there was no smoke from the engine at all or loud BOOM noise (which still may not mean it's not the engine). I was able to get the car to start once more after trying it a few more times and then it died once again a couple of minutes later. Now, when I attempt to start the ignition the car attempts to turn over and start but then it just is a cluttering sound but not ticking noises. I am a father going through a little bit of financial troubles as my son just got Hernia surgery on Monday so cash is an issue when trying to get it some where to get repaired, any assistance with information would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

D

V-6 or 4-cylinder engine?

Describe how the engine stopped working. Such as quit at a stoplight (engine idling), quit when driving, etc? When engine did quit it went through some RPM up, down, etc. or just died?

Any dash lights on prior to quitting such as check light, battery light, etc?

Is it possible in attempting to start the engine, the battery has run down? This then causing a slow engine turn over.

Describe the "cluttering" sound.

Check for ign spark. The internet has lots of posts on how to do this.
