Default new timing belt, now won't start!

My water pump drive shaft went south with the resulting slippage of the timing belt. Replaced water pump and timing belt, adjuster and idler roller, aligned all marks according to my Haynes manual, checked all vital functions and now engine will not start. Replaced coil (in distributer) and checked for spark. Checked fuel pump at filter, got fuel. Still no start. Car had been sitting for about a year cause I thought maybe valves were bent, but found out 4 cylinder engine not an interferance engine. I am ready to push car off cliff. Any suggestions? Paul
