Bushings
I have a 2002 Camry 4 cylinder standard. Great car thus far. Took to dealer for inspection today and they tell me the bushings are gone and need to be replaced to the tune of over 1000 dollars. They state that here in Maine they have been seeing this perhaps related to snow removal sand and salt? This is a huge amount of money for such a new care in my mind. They state that Toyota may refund folks in the future??? The cost is predicated on a large amount of labor to replace these parts???
Any thoughts appreciated.

RE: Bushings
I am not entirely sure yet as they are repairing today. They mentioned they were beneath the engine in the lower rocker arms so they may be lower bushings. sorry I am not an expert. Had to replace on a Toyota Sienna just recently and that was 600 dollars??? 60000 miles on camry

RE: Bushings
Ok so I now have my 1000 dollar bill for this job. I was told that the bushings were bad on the car. It has 60000 miles. Both lower control arms in the front of the car were replaced along with the bushings.

RE: Bushings
I guess if it needed it this price was not out of site. I can't see how sand and salt could cause such damage to these rubber bushings. Maybe ball joints if the boot was ripped. I would try to appeal to Toyota to see if others, like you say, have had a problem like this. These bushings, unless you're a cab driver in NYC, sould last longer than 60k.
