Default 2003 Camry 2.4L Composite Gears?

My camry went down and was told to purchase composite gears? What exactly are they and where can I get this supposed dealer-only item? I want my car back, any help/info would be appreciated. Thanks.

My 03 Camry went down and the mechanic pulled the oil pan and there were fibrous components that had teeth on it, that resembled gears. IDK if that's the right word to describe these things, but yeah it looked like gears but they looked like they were a composite material.

The balance shaft drive gears are fibrous. They can come apart.

Search the net for 2AZFE balance shaft gears.

Toyota part. Cost approx $141 (left) and $76 (right).

Does the engine still run?

The shafts can be removed and oil supply hole plugged. This may however shorten engine life at higher RPM's due to crank flexing.

Yes, the engine still ran when the engine stopped working correctly.
I'll look about and see what I can find, you wouldn't have a preferred online vendor for the gears would you?
Thanks,
Karl

Check various dealer online prices as some may be cheaper then others.
