Red SRS Dash Light Stays Lit
#11
Thanks for the helpful info Joey-especially the location. Just watched a British guy clearing an SRS light refer to the driver's side as the "right hand" side. So will focus on driver's side going forward.
The seller of the car says it was his uncle that had the accident and replaced the front bumper cover and right front quarter panel. The seller says "to the best of his knowledge" the airbags did not deploy on the uncle.
We already removed the SRS Control Module and shipped it out to get the accident data cleared and Reset. Will get back to you with the result.

Just circling back to say thanks to toyomoho. We finally got rid of the airbag light. We shipped the control module to be reset and reinstalled it. Airbag light remained lit. We went to a salvage yard and installed 2 different seat belt retractors a.k.a. pretensioners. Airbag light remained lit. Then we took a close look at the yellow floor wire connector to the seat belt. It was missing a black plastic "squeeze band" (as I call it). Back to the salvage yard for replacement floor wire connector. Cut original connector off, soldered replacement connector to existing wires, applied heat shrink tubing, then electrical tape. Turned the key and airbag light was gone. For good measure, reconnected scanner and cleared the stored codes.

Top image is salvage yard replacement with black claw intact. Bottom image is faulty original floor wire connector missing black claw. We just realized the driver's side doors don't match the passenger side doors. So it appears that the driver's side took a hit in an accident right where the floor connector resides.
