09 Camry pressing gas pedal has no effect
Pressing the gas pedal on my 2009 Camry has no effect. The engine starts fine, but the car won't speed; it just moves along very, vey slowly.
It has 60+K miles with normal servicing.
Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

The engine may use an electric throttle. In this case the throttle pedal is not connected to the engines throttle by a steel cable but electrical wires that operate an electric motor to move the throttle.
If the throttle pedal or motor fail the engine goes into a get-home-mode to allow getting off the road, getting home, getting to the repair shop, etc.

Thank you toyomoho.
My son was the one driving the car when the "pedal not throttling" issue arose. He tells me he had gotten the battery jump-started just prior.
It turns out one of the fuses controlling fuel had broken probably as a result of improper connection of cables when jump-starting.
Replacing the fuse fixed the problem.
